Great Britain Team On The Horizon

It's a concept that has been debated for years but now it seems that a Great British football team will become a reality. Fifa President Sepp Blatter, who once suggested that women should wear tighter shorts to make the female game more attractive, has already given his support to the idea and it now appears that the FA are keen on the proposal as well. FA Chief Executive has declare "YES" when asked if we should have a team representing Britain at the Olympics and FA chairman Lord Triesman stated that he was "completely committed" to the idea. Speculation remains open as to what the team will consist of with many suggesting it will contain 11 English players due to a lack of support from the smaller home nations who fear a loss of identity. Is it really possible for English and Scottish players to play together? More importantly is it after decades of rivalry to erase our traditions in order to compete in a football tournament that nobody really cares about? I think not but it seems that the football bureaucrats will have the last word on whether or not Team GB competes in 2012.
